Hello, it's Rob, the Domino Coach.
I recently read the book Grit by Angela Duckworth. This book
is a wonderful and powerful reminder to keep working toward whatever goal you're working toward, even when it’s tough, and especially when it's tough.
In her book, Duckworth shares that “grit beats talent almost every time” and she says that “as much as talent counts, effort counts twice.”
Why? Because success isn’t just about raw talent; it’s about passion plus perseverance over time. She defines grit as “the sustained application of effort toward a long-term goal,” and her research shows that those who stick with their goals, even when the excitement fades, are the ones who see real breakthroughs.
One of my favourite lines from the book is:
“Enthusiasm is common. Endurance is rare.”
So if you’re in the messy middle right now—pushing toward something that matters to you—take this as your friendly reminder to keep going. Progress is made one small, consistent step at a time, and that’s how the domino effect works in your favour as well.
If you need help clarifying your goal, sticking with it, or building a routine that keeps you moving forward, send me a message. I’d love to help you keep your momentum.
Stay gritty my friends, Rob
